At Avalon Academy, we believe in providing a well-rounded education for our students. That's why we offer a variety of events and activities throughout the year to enhance their learning experience. From field trips to special activity days, our calendar is always filled with exciting opportunities for GLL to engage with his education in new and meaningful ways.

Field Trip to Zillman Art Museum - University of Maine Bangor

Zillman Art Center in Bangor, ME offers a fun learning experience for field trips. GLL will connect art to real life through interactive exhibits and workshops. This hands-on approach helps him understand how art influences culture and society. By engaging with different art forms, GLL can deepen his appreciation for creativity and self-expression.

Field Trip to Bangor Children's Museum

The field trip to the Bangor Children's Museum will be an exciting and educational experience for GLL.  Interactive exhibits and hands-on activities can engage children in a fun and immersive way. This type of learning outside the classroom setting can enhance their understanding of various concepts and spark their curiosity.

Field Trip to Boston

A field trip to the Boston Freedom Trail wil provide GLL with a unique opportunity for interactive and fun learning experiences. By exploring historical sites and landmarks, he can engage directly with the rich history of the American Revolution, making their education more tangible and memorable.

Field Trip to Robert Frost Farm in Derry New Hampshire

A field trip to the Robert Frost Farm in Derry, New Hampshire, will provide GLL with a hands-on experience that enriches his education. By exploring the historic site, GLL can deepen his understanding of literature and history. This kind of experiential learning can help GLL develop a more well-rounded education by connecting classroom lessons to real-world experiences.

Annual Activities

Our annual activities are an integral part of our curriculum, providing students with unique learning experiences that complement their studies. These recurring events are highly anticipated and contribute to vibrant educational opportunities at Avalon Academy.

  • October 7, 2024 is Dress Up As Your Favorite Character from a Book Day
  • November 4. 2024 is PJ Day. Wear your warmest most comfy pajamas
  • February 28, 2025 is Formal Dress Day. Don't forget the hat and tie. 
  • March 11, 2025 is Zombie Day.  Brains!
  • April 17, 2025 is  Teacher Look A Like Day. Dress like your favorite teacher. 
  • May 9, 2025 Science Project Due - an opportunity for GLL to conduct experiments and present his findings.
  • May 30, 2025 History Project Due - an opportunity for GLL to explore his favorite part of history and present his findings. 

Our commitment to providing a dynamic and engaging educational experience extends to our calendar of events, ensuring that our students are always inspired and motivated in their learning journey.

September 2 first day of school – GLL will need to do the work for this day either before the wedding or do a double day on September 3

November 1 end of first quarter, report card

December 20 first day of Christmas break school closes at 4pm Christmas Eve
January 6 school resumes, school reopens

January 17 end of second quarter, report card

March 21 end of third quarter, report card

March 24 -28 winter break

April 14- 18 spring break

June 6 last day of school

Snow days mean doubling up on the next day. Any day GLL wants off, he has to make up the work the next day and do a double day.
